    I wish you had written more details about what you considered to be anecdotal evidence on the web page you provided a link to.

    The page shows that anecdotal evidence (in this case, evidence that child labor is decreasing in the garment industry) can be useful if it suggests where future research should be directed.

    At the very beginning of the page, it says that "reliable statistics on the rate of employment of children...comes from eyewitness accounts, non -governmental organization (NGO) and academic studies, journalists, and ILO reports." The eyewitness accounts would generally be considered anecdotal evidence between they were, most likely, limited to a particular area and selective, not part of a systematic research investigation.
